Firsts. Always exciting. Always terrifying. Always an adventure, especially when the Milo-munchkin is involved. And here we are with Mr. "Two and three-quarters" himself, on the first day of school. While he was being a banshee of stress and excitement last night, and didn't go to sleep until way way after midnight, he bounced out of bed super-early to get into his "new school shirt' and told Mama not to forget his "school supplies." Um, do raisins and an Ugly Doll for nap time cuddling count?

How proud was he to tell the doorman down the street, "It's my first day of school!"? And could he have immersed himself more readily into the Blue Room before remembering Mama's goodbye kiss?

First day of pre-school. New friends James and David. Lila in the Green Room next door when he got sad. A real live crab and baby-small frog. No nap. (Why? I didn't want to. Oh...) Special "dinner party" with Gran'mama at the pizza place. Lots of phone calls about being "a big boy." And then... falling asleep... EARLY.

But not without asking the same question over and over, "Am I going back to school tomorrow?"
