bluenotes.88 - earthlings on earth day

In a weekend of blossoms and bike rides and ice cream cones and lots of spring-time sneezing, Mama and Papa and Milo romped in the sunshine and had as much of a country weekend as city-dwellers could. Highlights included a visit from Auntie Sarah, learning to spell L-I-O-N, a special letter under the door from Lila, scrambled eggs made just perfectly by Milo himself, puzzling with Gran'ma and lots and lots of sticks to pick up, count, not-throw, shape into letters and hide in various pockets of Mama's bag to make it "so heavy."

Oh... and Laurie Berkner. "That's really really her! Really-live up there!" In a sunshine-drenched Central Park with every other slightly weary, well-intentioned, urban Earth-Daying, liberal-leaning parents from all five boroughs and beyond...

"We are the dinosaurs march-ing, march-ing. We are the dinosaurs, whaddya think of that?!"

No jackets required, all weekend long. Almost-summer-hot. But a look back at last weekend and the rain and coats and zoom-zoom-zooming...

Hug a tree. Plant some herbs. Sprinkle flower seeds. Unplug your phone charger. Change a lightbulb. Happy Earth Day!
