It's a momentous day for our fathers. Papa Richardson turns a fine 74 years young, and Papa Paoletti is to receive an esteemed teaching award. Papa R, the "Grand Old Man," is renowned for his bbq, his garden and -- as every kid in Berkeley knows -- his intolerance of bad behavior. Papa P, "il professore," is renowned for his "bizarre jokes," statements on sexual politics, and his intolerance of bad behavior.

So, eldest son, and elder daughter, are -- in the spirit of this momentous day -- on our best behavior. Big hugs, much love and congratulations to our pops!
