While NYC continues to hold on to vestiges of the long winter, and the sun hasn't peeked through in weeks, Charles still managed to find glimpses of what promises to be a lovely spring.

Early morning has become one of my times at Chez Panisse. It's truly the garde-manger's time but in the office, I sit in the grey dawn's light, sipping my bowl of coffee and ponder the day before the cacophony of phones and voices begin. Allways when I arrive, someone from Saturday night has left up a web site on my computer, some mundane, some stupid but none ever as sweet as your site to start my morning thoughts. Rebecca,
I'm sorry that we haven't met yet. I dragged a broken paw through three wet days of New york winter last year but I will do better the next time.It feel's almost too intimate to be able to read your thoughts and think about the same process me and my love Kate are trying to get started again so thank you for sharing your own. I think both the words and pictures are wonderful and I send my best blessings out to you both. Remember, never skip on rest and treats for the whole time.
