In a word, opulent.
Fourteen (or twenty-two) landscaped acres of gardens and interlocking flagstones, a gazebo, tiny lanterns strung across rose arbors. A Matisse in the dining room. A butler in the hall. Two kitchens, hidden bathrooms, crystal chandeliers in the outdoor tents. Thunder from the heavens at all appropriate moments. Waterfalls of rain.

And the dinner... Six beautiful courses, fresh peas, spit-roasted pork, pistachio parfait with lime & basil & perfect strawberries that were flown in from somewhere (no strawberries locally, too much rain), and a whiff of C's amber 1934 Armagnac afterward.

The sprout may never see another wedding quite so spectacular, but I hope that his/hers contains as much bliss, and wide-open-hearted love. Congratulations, again, to Seen & Fred. We had a breath-takingly marvelous time...
