Though Milo and Mommy did manage a short walk outside -- post office, stop at Barney's Co-Op sale, hit Starbucks* (for Mommy a decaf vanilla latte, for Milo absurd levels of oogling by shop boys, stamp ladies and one hipster barista) -- it was mostly a quiet day at home looking out on freezing cold New York and testing theories of feeding/waking/napping (in what order? for how long? etc) before Daddy got home.
Fortunately for us, Srini came to visit in the afternoon, with romantic tales of his recent engagement to Anna, travels in London, the perils of eating Indian food out, and other Srini stories. Milo has adored Srini since they first met, when he was two days' old. And our munchkin obviously had an easy time leaving a starting-to-get-stiff Mommy to sleep on a sandalwood-ylangylang Srini pillow.

Come visit us again soon!
*Note: Charles hates Starbucks. Though his wife might patronize that "cafe" six times in a year, each time she goes, it is with trepidation about admitting it. She could list all her favorite neighborhood cafes that have been pushed out by the Green Monster, and how since there are 5 within 4 blocks of the apartment, it's the simplest with-baby treat. Defensive? Maybe.
