On Monday, December 6, the little creature-monkey turned 1. On Sunday, December 5, surrounded by family and a hugely wonderful banana pudding made by his gran'mama and lots of pop-worthy balloons, he celebrated, tore up tissue paper, danced and sang for an audience and learned to snap his fingers.

On Saturday, December 4, he celebrated more, finding himself bundled up with Mama and Papa and Auntie Ali for an excursion to the Big Tree -- 70 feet tall, covered in 30,000 lights, surrounded by a salmon-sea of tourists.

And in the days between then and now, he's left his parents in awe of all he's learned and said and felt and grown in the past 12 months, and kept us jumping around after him - and no time to update this blog!
Hey, Papa. Can I have a Ferragamo snowsuit?. Let's go see the tree again!
